Reflexology is the practice of applying pressure to the feet and hands utilizing specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil, cream or lotion. The treatment is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with a premise that such work affects a physical change in the body. Reflexology is a rewarding career, especially for those who would like flexible working hours on a self-employed basis.
City & Guilds level 3 Diploma in Reflexology which recognised for full membership to the AOR.
This qualification is the full 4 unit qualification required for professional status and is designed for everyone, even without previous knowledge. Reflexology is a rewarding career, especially for those who would like flexible working hours on a self-employed basis.
The training includes:
The history, theories and principles of reflexology; Anatomy and physiology of the body; Understanding the body in sickness and in health including cause of illness, diseases, reactions of medications, areas of assistance; How to treat specific disorders; Hand reflexology; How to carry out case studies
Aspects of consultation and how to work the feet in a professional manner; Nutrition, health and hygiene will also be covered as well as business practice.
This program has been rated by Ofqual as level 3 which is similar to A-Level standard.
There is no specific pre-requisite, however it is a very time consuming course and it is essential that you the desire to excel and a professional mature attitude. You will need to complete research and produce assignments so access to a laptop and printer is essential.
Much learning is through practical application, discussion, exploration with treatments performed on each other until safe correct techniques have been mastered. You will then progress to working on clients and will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of your treatments and complete task work quickly during the course.

Attendance is for 18 weeks (weekdays term time only, Sundays, breaks to be negotiated). Following this, you will have a further six months to complete the reflective practice case studies. Get it done days, telephone tutorials and email/group support is provided throughout this time.
The cost of the training is £1375 which includes exam and certification fees and student membership of the Association of Reflexologists.
In addition to the training fee, you will need to provide the following:
Flat sheet, small towels, foot cleansing solution and balm costing no more than £30. Details will be provided at registration.

If you are new to the industry, you will be required to purchase professional salon jacket & trousers from Labeeby Academy. £45.20, a name badge and will need to wear flat, closed in shoes.
Unit 301 Principles and Practice of Complementary Therapies
This is a knowledge assignment containing 3 tasks, each are individually graded, You will be required to have completed this by the end of the 18 weeks.
Unit 302 Business Practice for Complementary Therapies
This is a knowledge assignment containing 4 tasks, each are graded pass, merit or distinction.You will be required to have completed this by the end of the 18 weeks.
Unit 303 Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Complementary Therapies
This is an on-line multiple choice test of 80 questions which you do under exam conditions at the centre. It is NOT expected that you will be ready to take this exam within 18 weeks unless you have significant prior knowledge and you will set a mutually convenient time within the following 6 months after completing the initial training.
Unit 306 Provide Reflexology for Complementary Therapies
On week 16 you will sit a written case studies which will test your knowledge around treatment practice.
You will be practically assessed on 3 occasions; twice by your educator and finally by an independent assessor.

Some can be in the classroom and on family/friends/peers. The treatments must include 15 different clients.
2 client x 12 treatments = 24
4 clients x 8 treatments = 32
4 clients x 6 treatments = 24
5 clients x 4 treatments = 20
