Complementary therapy – aromatherapy

Secure your future now

Book your place today and receive your online induction programme for immediate access.

Aromatherapy is an alternative form of holistic therapy that uses essential oils to help improve and balance you both emotionally and physically, while helping you to take time out for yourself, to be mindful and to reconnect with yourself, even for a moment. The aromas experienced through aromatherapy and essential oils have a dynamic effect on the mind and body.

The effect is experienced through the sense of smell which is linked to the deepest parts of the brain governed by your basic instincts, thoughts and emotions. On a physical level, essential oils help to ease muscular aches and pains, improve circulation, ease sinus congestion and act as a strong antioxidant.

This course has been designed for existing massage therapists

This course focuses on the knowledge and skills required to carry out professional aromatherapy.

You will develop communication skills, organisation skills, the ability to work unsupervised, how to adapt techniques according to the situation, the ability to plan and promote services and advice on aftercare.

The knowledge you will gain will enable them you understand how the related body systems work, the effect aromatherapy treatments can have on each of these systems and the theory behind each technique performed.

The training includes:

The history, theories and principles of aromatherapy; Understanding the body in sickness and in health including cause of illness, diseases, reactions of medications, areas of assistance; How to treat specific disorders; Create home care treatments; How to carry out case studies

Aspects of consultation and how to work the feet in a professional manner; Nutrition, health and hygiene will also be covered.

Much learning is through practical application, discussion, exploration with treatments performed on each other until safe correct techniques have been mastered.  You will then progress to working on clients and will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of your treatments and complete task work quickly during the course.
