What will I learn?
The nail industry is constantly evolving and new products and techniques are introduced to the marketplace each year. This means that nail technicians need to ensure they receive the most comprehensive up to date training there is.
This comprehensive course covers everything required to work as work as a professional nail technician in a salon or working to work for yourself; including natural nail preparation, tip application, gel, fibre & acrylic application, maintenance and removal techniques.
Who is this course suitable for?
This course is suitable for those already skilled in manicures.
What qualification will I achieve?
City & Guilds level 2 Award in nail enhancements or unit credit if working towards a full Diploma in beauty therapy qualification.
How and where will I be taught?
This program is delivered at The Bay Tree Training Centre by Toni Larkin & the Phoenix Team. We use a variety of teaching methods which will vary according to the groups we have. Much learning is through practical application, discussion, exploration with treatments performed on each other until safe correct techniques have been mastered. You will then progress to working on clients and will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of your treatments and complete task work quickly during the course.

How much work will I have to do from home?
You will be given research, practical and written tasks to do each week; they will take between 1-2 hours depending on your learning style plus you will have the anatomy & physiology learning to compete which can be done at your own pace. There is no pressure to complete all the work within the hours of the course; we offer a lifelong learning opportunity so you can keep going without the pressure.
How will I be assessed?
Once you have tried each system, (gel, fibre & acrylic) you will choose select your preferred choice to develop your skills and assessed when carrying out treatments on clients throughout the course which will make up part of the reflective practice required to achieve the qualifications. There is an online knowledge tests which covers the knowledge of anatomy & physiology & nail enhancement.
What costs are involved?
There cost of the course is £315.00 which can be paid in full or through a payment plan.
Daytime course 3 instalments of £105.00
Evening course 4 instalments of £78.75
If wishing to pay via a payment plan, you only need to make an initial payment and set up a standing order to pay the balance over the duration of the training course.
Once you have booked, you will be sent the induction course to complete and will then attend the induction session where you will register with City & Guilds. The £23.70 online exam fee is payable at directly to City & Guilds by credit or debit card.
